👑 Oba — The Story Behind the Candle In Yoruba mythology, Oba is the goddess of rivers and the first wife of Shango, the god of thunder. She is revered for her loyalty, strength, and devotion, though her story also carries themes of sacrifice and heartbreak. Her name also means “king” in Yoruba — a powerful double meaning that holds both divine femininity and royal authority. Oba is both ruler and river, a reminder of resilience in the face of trials. To burn Oba is to honour that balance — strength tempered by tenderness. 💡 Did you know? The River Oba in Nigeria is said to be where the goddess still resides. Candle Care

  1. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch for best burn without soot
  2. Burn within sight. Always be vigilant when burning candles
  3. Avoid drafts and curtains
  4. Limit burn time to four hours
  5. Keep away from flammables, children and pets
  6. Allow candle to cool before handling
